Our fourth grade students from band, orchestra and chorus performed in front of a packed house during their spring concert at Arrowhead Elementary on Tuesday, May 12. Students from both Worcester and Arrowhead Elementary came together to perform over a dozen songs for the audience of family, friends and community members.

The Worcester and Arrowhead students have been practicing their skills all year long at their individual schools, and they only had one brief rehearsal as a collective group before the concert began. Despite their short time playing together, the sounds were harmonious and the smiles were abundant. The band played a variety of tunes from 'Big Beat Boogie' to "Let's Go Band" while the orchestra performed classics like Can-Can and revisited some of their songs from the String Jamboree earlier this year. The chorus closed out the concert with a musical tour around the world, playing a traditional Latin round, an African American Folksong and 'Do-Re-Mi' from The Sound of Music. Their grand finale was the hit song 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours' by Stevie Wonder.

Congratulations to all of our students on their collaborative and successful performances! And a huge thank you to our music teachers for sharing the magic of music with our students and bringing these two schools together: Mrs. Danielle DiRenzo (Band), Mx. Steph Shuey and Mrs. Susan Basalik (Orchestra), Mrs. Lauren Fiore and Mrs. Natalie Perez (Chorus). A special shout out to piano accompanist Mrs. Cheryl Platco and Mr. Eric Stephens who supported on the drums.
